Nikolaos Tzortzatos

Biography

Nikolaos Tzortzatos founded his architectural firm in 1976, shortly after graduating from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). His journey into architecture began during his university years, collaborating with Professor Solon Kydoniatis on notable projects such as the Panagia Oropos Church and a seven-story office and retail building on Kapodistriou and September 3rd streets in Athens.

Since then, Tzortzatos has completed 338 diverse projects across a range of architectural interests. From 1976 to 1979, while serving in the Hellenic Air Force General Staff and the Air Force Officers’ Resort in Agios Andreas, Attica, he was responsible for the planning, supervision, and execution of multiple projects. During this period, he maintained his private architectural practice, which continued to grow with significant partnerships.

Over the years, Tzortzatos collaborated with several prominent firms, including “Sthenis Molfesis & Partners,” contributing to the French Academy of Athens building study in Kolonaki, and “E&K Liosis – Apostolos Stratoulatos S.A.,” where he worked on the design and construction of a five-story office and retail building on Kifisia Avenue in Paradisos Marousi.

In addition to his architectural practice, Tzortzatos has a strong academic and literary background. Each of his architectural studies is approached with the rigor of a scholarly dissertation, reflecting his commitment to precision and innovation. He has also translated five books of architectural significance and authored a Greek-English dictionary of technical terms, contributing to the advancement of technical knowledge in both languages.
